Siamo una razza italiana ed antichissima. Usavano regalarci già ai tempi dell'Impero Romano, Aristotele diceva di noi che siamo esemplari di grande pregio, degni di vivere solo in ambienti patrizi. Eravamo molto apprezzati dalla Marchesa Pompadour (la Favorita di re Luigi XV) e alla corte dei Gonzaga e dei Medici nel Rinascimento. Anche Caterina II di Russia fu nostra grande estimatrice. Il Duca D'Este ne regalo due al Re Filippo II e anche Umberto II di Savoia ne fece dono alla fidanzata e futura Regina Maria Jose. Capite perchè, con il declino della nobiltà, fummo messi in disparte e quasi dimenticati sino a rischiare l'estinzione. Dopo la seconda guerra mondiale un gruppo di appassionati allevatori è riuscito a salvarci e oggi, possiamo felicemente trotterellare nelle esposizioni e in tante case dove, con il nostro carattere socievole, allegro gentile, affettuoso abbiamo riportato il buon umore. Siamo molto intelligenti e un po furbetti e quando decidiamo di attirare l'attenzione facciamo dei numeri molto divertenti. Siamo molto attaccati al nostro amico a due zampe ma non ossessivi; diciamo che la nostra presenza è costante e continua. Ci piace fare compagnia, non sappiamo fare altro, ma ci piace anche riceverla. Anche da grandi, siamo eterni cuccioli e sempre..piccolini (siamo alti dai 25 ai 30 cm), con codina allegra ricurva sul dorso. Siamo adatti a tutti, grandi e piccini, nonni e bambini. Andiamo in tutti i posti, viaggiamo in aereo, in treno, mangiamo al ristorante. A volte non si accorgerebbero nemmeno che ci siamo, solo che siamo così carini che..ci fermano sempre e ci fanno sempre mille domande! Abbiamo bisogno di essere lavati 1/2 volte al mese e spazzolati 2/3 volte la settimana. Il nostro pelo è lungo sollevato e a bioccoli ed il nostro colore è solo bianco puro.

We are an antique italian breed. Used and given as gifts since the time of the Roman Empire. It was Artistotle who said that we were symbols of great wealth destined to live only in patrician surroundings we were esteemed greatly by M.me Pompadour (the mistress of Luis xv) and at the Renaissance courts of the Gonzaga and Medici. Katherine The Great was also a great fan of our breed. The Duke d'Este gave 2 to King Phillip II and also Umberto II of Savoy gave some to his fiancee and future Queen Maria Jose. You can undestand therefore that with the decline of the aristocracy, we were dispersed virtually forgotten and risked complete extinction. However after the Second World War a group of breeders with a passion for our race got together to save us and today we can happily be seen at shows and many hones where with our gentle, sociable and affectionate characters we always create a good atmosphere. We are very intelligent, a little naughty and when we decide we need attention our antics can be very amusing. We are very attached to our two legged friends not obsessively but, we would say that we are always there for you. If you like company, we don't know anything else, but also we like company too. Even when we are grown up we are still puppies at heart and never grow higher than 25/30 centrimetres, with a cheeky tail curved over our backs. We are suitable for everyone, big small , grandparents and children. We can go anywhere, fly, travel in trains, eat in restaurants. Sometimes you don't even know we are there, but be sure that we are so sweet you will be stopped and asked a thousand questions about us. We need to be bathed once or twice a month and brushed at least two or three times a week. Our coat is long and wooly and our colour is only pure white.
